The motor racing scene in recent years has picked up pace,  attracting more followers with each coming year, and the Silverstone classic this year will see its own crowd of followers old and new pouring through once the gates are opened to the public this July.

Looking through the impressive list of on- and off track programmes, there is enough to please enthusiasts, competitors, classic car owners and simple fans like me. So I will stop using fancy words and provide you some highlights on what to expect.

There are over 1000 race entries, spread across over 20 races, with qualifying rounds starts on Friday, which will lead to a jam packed racing calendar over Sat and Sunday on every grid (Single Seaters, GT, Sport cars and Touring Car Grids) covering almost every period from 1960s all the way up-to 2000. This year event is topped by the special 50 year anniversary of the legendary North American Can-Am championship.

Car clubs are possibly the most important part of the events, and this year will be no different. This year event is promising to be even bigger that last year with over 100 clubs already registered. If you are a proud owner of a classic car and would like to display your pride and joy, and even maybe have hard core enthusiast to worship the car you own, then by all means register and join the events.

With Arial displays from Twister Aerobatics, wildcats Aerobatics and The Blades, live music, auctions and tons of other entertainment scheduled, the event will be much bigger and better than before.
