I personally don’t see the point of this mammoth of a car, but what would I know, I still drive a BMW-X1 diesel to do school runs and shopping trips.

There are two reasons for that, one is I spend all my spare times running around bothering various manufacturers to give me cars to review and two, as I have not managed to persuade any manufacturers to do the first, I even spend more time bothering them.

So in a nutshell, I don’t have enough time to change my car. However, this blog is not about my time and my car, it is meant to be about Mitsubishi Shogun Sport.

Exclusivity sold in U.K. with a 2.4 litre engine, which develops 179 bhp and 317 lbs ft of torque, the Sport comes with a spanking brand new eight-speed automatic gearbox and Mitsubishi’s Super Select 4WD II four-wheel drive system, which can operate in either two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive mode.

The Shogun Sport is packed with number of useful three letter acronyms, such as HDC (hill descent control), HSA (hill start assist) and TSA, which is a new one on me (trailer start assist).

It is also equipped with a dedicated off road mode, with additional features such as leather upholstery, keyless entry and push button start on premium model.

Mitsubishi has high hopes for Shogun Sport. The Sport which is based on the L200’s platform, to become one of the brand’s biggest sellers. The previous-generation Shogun Sport was discontinued in the UK in 2006.

The Shogun Sport should be available for sale from April, priced from £36,905, and we should also expect to see the fifth generation plug and play hybrid by 2019.
